CCJ reviews guest opinion submissions for publication consideration. Submissions should make a clear argument, be original, and matter to Collin County readers.

We prioritize pieces connected to local government, elections, public policy, taxes, growth, schools, public safety, business, civic life, culture, and state or national issues with direct local impact.

Submission Guidelines +

Preferred length: 700 to 1,200 words.

Guest opinions should make a clear argument or point of view.

Submissions should be tied to Collin County or a state/national issue with local impact.

Include sourcing for factual claims where appropriate.

Avoid unsupported allegations and personal attacks without evidence.

Submissions should be exclusive to Collin County Journal unless otherwise approved.

CCJ reserves the right to edit for clarity, length, accuracy, style, legal risk, headline, formatting, and publication standards. Submission does not guarantee publication.

If published, guest opinions may appear on CCJ platforms, newsletters, social channels, and other distribution surfaces at the editor’s discretion.
